Paul is a minister of the United Reformed Church. He has served in Beith, North Ayrshire in Scotland, in Islington in London, in the Republic of Panama, and in Birmingham. From 1st July 2008 until the end of 2020 he served as Moderator of the Eastern Synod of the United Reformed Church. He then served as Moderator of the National Synod of Scotland from the beginning of 2021 to the end of 2023. He now lives in Norfolk in retirement.
